February 24: Grammy Wrap-Up
Avril, who was nominated for five Grammy Awards, unfortunately walked away empty handed at last night's ceremony. That didn't stop Avril from enjoying herself though. Not only was she given the opportunity to perform her Grammy nominated song, "Sk8er Boi," for over two billion viewers, but she was also able to watch a whole score of other amazing performances. Grammy night is all about the music, and this year there were, count them, a whopping 18 performances, she said. MTV's Kurt Loder enjoyed Avril's performance. He later wrote, that she "kicked butt! There's no denying this!" During the awards, Avril also received a very special greeting from over 600 people from her home town that had gathered at a local school and had a Grammy party for Avril. While walking the red carpet Avril's cell phone rang and she was met with a loud "Hello, Avril!" from everyone at the party. "She said she was blown away!" school principal, Kerry Stewart said later. Despite Avril's not winning, her town still supports her very much. "It's not the end of the world," said Cliff Trott, a friend of Lavigne's family. "I hope she knows how much we care about her," added 15-year-old Charlene Knight.

February 23: Avril Recalls Her Reaction to Grammy Nods
With the Grammy awards coming up tonight, Avril took a moment to reflect on her reaction when she found out she was nominated for five Grammy Awards. Avril was on hand during the nominations ceremony and says, "I walked off the stage thinking I had three (the ones that were announced onstage.) Then my tour manager came up to me and told me that I had five. I was like, 'What? Pinch me!' " Avril also had family on the mind. "As soon as I get out of here, I'm going to call my mom," she said at the press conference. "She's going to freak out."

February 23: Sum 41 Aren't the Only Ones Singing "Complicated"
A couple days ago, it was reported that punk band Sum 41 performed Avril's "Complicated," only to get booed by their fans. Well, Rich emailed me and let me know that Sum aren't the only ones performing Avril's songs. He wrote: I was at 'Bowling For Soup's gig at DeMontfort University, Leicester, UK on Thursday 13th February. In between a couple of songs they launched into the chours of "Complicated" and, I'm happy to report, opposed to the 'Sum41' reaction the crowd (and me obviously) cheered and rocked out. So basically other bands play Avril and other fans are more appreciative! Thanks, Rich, for the news! It's definitely good to hear that!

I think it's great when people show that they are just themselves." Canadian actress A.J. Cook (Final Destination 2) adds, "She is so not the pop princess. She has got a totally different image." American Idol host and Los Angeles radio personality Ryan Seacrest says, "People say there was a void in the market for the girl who wasn't the Britney Spears-type quintessential pop idol. Avril is the bad girl, but not too bad. She's not necessarily your Britney Spears-esque type pop personality. I think her lyrics are very mature and poised for her age as well."
